Cocker passed away at his home in Colorado from battling lung cancer.but he was born in Sheffield, England.
The world of music has lost one of the greatest blues and soul singers of our lifetime. This man will forever be remembered as one of the leading pioneers in the Blue Eye soul and blues genre. Joe Cocker, has died. Joe Cocker, brought to the stage a great presence and a raspy, deep down in our souls style of music and sound. His emotional performances and soulful bluesy vocals captured our hearts and our minds. Long before there was Hall & Oats there was Joe Cocker the man who changed the game and entered into the area a new face in what was only known as predominantly black music and sound and everyone loved him and his music. Wow! we keep losing the best of the best. Joe Cocker leaves behind a legacy of great music and soul. Joe Cocker maintained his musical excellence until his final moments as we celebrate the man and his music. We wish him a peaceful spiritual journey to that musical heaven, where he will join the rest of his musical peers.
Sony Music confirmed his passing in a statement today. His agent, Barrie Marshall, told The BBC, “It will be impossible to fill the space he leaves in our hearts,” adding, “He was without the doubt the greatest rock/soul voice ever to come out of Britain and remained the same man throughout his life.”
Some of Joe’s most notable songs are:
“A Little Help From My Friends”
“You Are So Beautiful”
“Up Where We Belong”
